HOMESTEADING

The Homesteading series (2014–2017) explores the relationship of center and periphery in urban and technological landscapes. Be it a simple walk through an urban sprawl, a short trip to a failing modernist estate, or a gathering at the technological home we carry with us 24/7, the series discusses homesteading in environments that are by default hostile and unwelcoming.

Homesteading mourns the loss of home as a specific point in space while refusing to fall for nostalgia, homesickness, as is embraces the idea of home as a device.

And, radio-like, my cat lies curled
With his green eye tuned in to the world.
